PERFORMANCE ART / PUBLIC INTERVENTIONS

My actions begin where the stage is absent. I have worked in the streets of Los Angeles since 2018, turning traffic signals, sidewalks, and public encounters into temporary situations in which the spectator is not chosen in advance.

I approach these encounters as a form of anthropological performance. During my years without legal immigration status, I used the body as both an instrument of work and a way of investigating who can appear, occupy space, and be recognized. Every interruption, exchange, and response changes the action.
